Exposition
Contains the story's
setting (both time and place),
main characters,
and introduces the conflict.

Rising Action
This is where the characters become defined,
and the conflict/problem
is developed.
It is also where tension builds.

Where the story builds
to the point of causing the reader
to almost hold their breath to see what happens next.
(the climax is over quickly)

Explains how the problem/conflict is solved.

Ties up the loose ends and ends the story.
