ありません　＝　don't have

These adverbs must write in affirmative sentence.

*「たくさん」 written in affirmative sentence.

えんぴつが　すこし　あります。

I have a few pencils.

*「すこし」 written in affirmative sentence.

These adverbs should write in negative sentence.

おかねが　あまり　ありません。

I have a some money.

*「あまり」written in negative sentence.

たべものが　ぜんぜん　ありません。

Don't have food at all.

*「ぜんぜん」written in negative sentence.

Please take note すこし and あまり can use both meaning 'SOME/ A FEW'. Only grammar structure is different.

I have some sweets.

both are correct!
