( Subject and predicate)

Subject

• Is what (whom) the sentence is about

• A subject is a person/ things/ animals that perform and action (verb)

• Eg: A cat/ Sarah/ The tree/ The boy

Predicate

• tells something about the subject

• Eg: The boy kicks the ball

Constructing a sentence

• A sentence should has a subject and a predicate

• There are few formulas to construct sentence

• Every sentence must start with a subject and follows by a verb

Example:

• Alia is sleeping.

• Alia is sleeping in her room.

• Alia is sleeping in her room at night

Example

• Angah kicks a ball

• Angah kicks a ball at the field
