• ATP is an RNA nucleotide that attaches to a ribose (sugar) connected to three phosphates

How ATP Works

• ATP captures chemical energy obtained from the breakdown of food molecules and releases it as fuel to power cellular processes

• Hydrolysis of ATP to ADP is reversible.
