Agreements for Learning!

Before we get started, does anybody have any news that they want to share?

*Attendance

Before we get started...

• I acknowledge how crazy this year has been!

• New teachers, new type of learning

• Goal is to maintain changes that are gradual

• Learning is important, and so is your mental health

• Mistakes happen!

Let's come up with agreements!

• Teachers and students both have jobs

• Choices we make are important!

• We need to agree on what it takes to be successful in this virtual learning environment!

When are some good times to turn your camera off?

When are some good times to keep your camera on?

When/Why is it important for the camera to be turned on?

• Attendance

• Helps me teach (body language, hand signals, lesson good/bad)

• Helps me build stronger relationships with you all

• Learning is more fun

• Let's me know you are present

When is a good time to turn cameras off?

• Finishing up a snack or other food

• Internet is having issues

• Moving to a different location

• May need to check on something important

Camera Expectations

• Cameras need to be on during attendance

• Cameras need to be on when there is student participation (discussion, raising hands, thumbs up thumbs down, and etc.)

• If there is a situation where you need to turn your camera off or need to go somewhere real quick, please let me know!

Other Expectations

• Stay muted unless called on

• Show that you are listening verbally/nonverbally

• Only use chat for learning (unless told otherwise)

• Be respectful towards one another

• Learning materials are always accessible

• Last day to submit absolute inequality practice to the Classroom (Most finished)

• Complete Student Survey

• I will stay in the Google Meet if you need help on specific problems

• Quiz on absolute inequalities will be tomorrow!

• Also be sure to complete your flipgrid, since it will be graded!

Math 8

• Complete the student survey

• Spend the rest of your time completing the "Linear Equations Practice" continued. You can make a copy of the slideshow or you can submit a picture!
