Application problem 1

There are 83 girls and 76 boys in the third grade. How many total students are in third grade?

4

Multiple Choice

There are 83 girls and 76 boys in third grade. How many students are in Third-grade?

1

80+70=150 Now lets break the numbers up to help 50 and 30 make 80, so 70+30=100. Then + 6 to 150 and then + 3 equals 159. So 83+76=159. So then, There are 159 girls and boys in Third-Grade

2

80+70=111+3+6+120. So there are 120 girls and boy in Third-Grade. I might have cheated because I used a counculater.

Applucation problem 2

Jordan uses 3 lemons to make 1 picter of lemonade. He makes 4 picters. How many lemonds does he use altogether?

6

Multiple Choice

Jordan uses 3 lemons to make 1 pitcher of lemonade. He makes 4 pitcher. How many lemons does he use altogether?

1

So you need 3 lemons to make 1 pitcher. So were doing 3 four times. So then 3+3=6 3+3=6. SO 6 + 6 =12 because 6-1=5 and 5+5=10, and 10+1+1=12. So Jordan uses 12 lemons altogether.

2

So 3+3+3+3=11. 2+2+2+2+1=11, so Jordan uses 11 altogether. Look it up if you don't belive me.
