Solving Inequality Basics

• Pretend the inequality is an = and solve as normal

• If you multiply or divide by a negative number, flip the inequality sign

• If the variable winds up on the right, move it to the left and flip the inequality sign

Quick Graphing Refresher

• Make sure the equation is in slope intercept form: y=mx+b

• Start with the y intercept (b) and put a dot on the y axis

• From that dot, do what the slope (m) says: rise (up or down) first, the run to the right and make a second dot

• Draw your line (make sure it matches what your inequality says)
