WORK AND ENERGY
BY SFS TEACHERS RISHABH AND GABRIEL

2
What is work
Work has many meanings in different subjects like in English we use it as a term for any day to day activity where as the term 'work' in physics means work is the energy transferred to or from an object via the application of force along a displacement.
3
What is energy?
The word energy in very often used in our daily life, but in science it is known as a capacity for doing work. It may exist in potential, kinetic, thermal, electrical, chemical, nuclear, or other various forms, but we for todays lesson we are only going to be learning potential and kinetic energy
4
Kinetic energy
In physics, the kinetic energy (KE) of an object is the energy that it possesses due to its motion. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity. Having gained this energy during its acceleration, the body maintains this kinetic energy unless its speed changes.
5
Potential energy
Potential energy is energy that is stored – or conserved - in an object or substance. This stored energy is based on the position, arrangement or state of the object or substance. You can think of it as energy that has the 'potential' to do work.
6
Equations on kinetic and potential energy
Rishabh will do a white board session about it.
7
now we will show you two videos on kinetic and potential energy.

DOUBTS??
