First thing: Grammar Review

We have the 8 parts of speech which are: nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.

3

Subject- (NOUN)

  • The subject or NOUN of the sentence tells who or what the sentence is about

  • So all ways remember when we are on our benchmark subject means noun and it all means its going to tell us who or what the sentence is about almost like the main idea, if we think about it.

4

A Simple Subject

  • A simple subject is just the main subject or noun of the sentence

  • So its basically likes a part B to a question Example lets say you have a passage and it gives you the subject or like we know The noun which is tells us who or what the sentence is bout, so lets say the sentence or passage is about a girl learning how to ride a bike and its says for part A: What is the subject or noun we can say for this sentence ad or answer would be a girl learning how to ride a bike, now Part B: What is the simple subject of the sentence and our answer would be a girl riding her bike easy as that, you can pause or keep going and email me questions before we go on to the next one my email is miyahrobinson@gmail.com.

A Complete subject

A complete subject is the entire noun phrase and a noun phrase is a small group of words which contains a noun but doesn't contain a verb. A noun phrase usually contains a noun plus other words to describe it.

6

Lastly is the Predicates (VERB)

The Predicate or verb of a sentence tells what the subject or noun does or is. So example of what I said earlier about a girl learning how to ride her bike so basically the verb is basically a action so the girls action is riding a bike. Its as simple as that.
