Types of Nouns

• Common/ Ptoper

• Abstract/Concreate

• Collective

• Human/Non-Human

• Plural/Singular

• Remember: A noun will always be a person,Place or thing!

Common/ Proper Nouns

Common Noun- A general name for a person, place, thing or idea. Example: Paris

Proper Noun- A name of a specific person, place, thing, or idea. Example :Eiffel Tower of Paris and the Proper noun will be the letters E, T, P

Only Proper Nouns need to be Capitalized, So its a really a huge clue if the noun or like we know a person, place, thing or idea is capitalized.

Concrete Nouns

These nouns are the ones we can visualize. Examples: Shoes, Cars, Clothes

Basically anything we can see, touch, taste, hear, or smell.

Abstract Nouns

These nouns have things we cant do like Concrete nouns. Tell me some that is not on this slide. Anger, Ideas, Feelings/Emotions
