What is the difference between dreams and goals?

  • Dreams are visions of what we want

  • Goals are our road map to making it happen – they take us from one point to the next.

  • Long-term: Something you want to accomplish over the course of year (s)

Make your goals SMART!

  • S - Specific (What is your goal?)

  • M - Measurable (What do you need to do to reach it?)

  • A - Achievable (How will you track your progress?)

  • R - Relevant (How does this goal improve you?)

  • T - Timely (When will you reach your goal by?)

10

What does a SMART goal look like?

  • Specific: I want to give every student specific feedback on their tests by the end of the week

  • Measurable: I will grade one class per day starting on Monday and ending on Friday

  • Achievable: I will mark scores down in Google Classroom as I go

  • Relevant: This will help me improve my students learning by giving them an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and fix them

  • Timely: I plan to reach the goal by Friday so all students have their scores when we return to school
