What is advent?


Advent is a term from the Latin word "adventus" which means "arrival". It is a time of waiting of the arrival of Christmas, the coming of Jeasus to earth when he was born as a baby at Bethlehem about 2 thousand years ago

Advent wreath

is made of a circle of evergreen branches which symbiloze an eternal life and 4 red candles, standing in a cirlce. Christians lit one candle every sunday before Xmas. The first candle symbolizes Hope, the second - Peace, the third - Love, the fourth - Joy. At Xmas the fifth candle is put in the centre and lit, symbolizing the birth of Jesus.
