  • We use the past simple to talk about past actions/events/states which have finished.

  • We have two types of verbs regular verbs and irregular verbs

  • *To form the past simple with regular verbs we add -ed/-d to the verb.

  • We use the Past Continuous to talk about a particular moment in the past.

  • Emily was walking the dog at 5 p.m.

  • We use the Past Continuous to talk about temporary actions which give extra information.

  • While I was doing my homework, my brother was playing the guitar.

  • We use the past continuous form to talk about an action happening when another action happened.
