Today we will read about how different levels of the government can work to solve big problems.

To understand what you read, you have to be able to find the really important details and ideas in the text. Good readers learn to spot clues that tell them the information they are reading is critical to understanding the text. We are going to use text features and text structures to help us identify the key ideas in a text.

The large text and bright colors of the title tell us to pay attention. Put a star by the title.

  • Problems and solutions are going to be an important part of this text.

  • When I see the text talking about a problem or solution, I should take note that the information is probably important.
