The factored form of a quadratic tells us the x-intercepts

Ex:

 $f\left(x\right)=\left(x-5\right)\left(x+2\right)$   has x-intercepts at (5,0) and (-2, 0)

x-intercepts are where the line crosses the x-axis

Ex:
 $f\left(x\right)=\left(x-5\right)\left(x+2\right)$  
  has x-intercepts at (5,0) and (-2, 0)
