Thermal Energy & Heat:

Scholars will investigate the methods of thermal energy transfer, "HEAT" including Conduction, Convection, & Radiation.

What is Thermal Energy?

-The TOTAL kinetic energy of all the particles(atoms) in the form of matter(object).

*When the thermal energy of a substance increases, its particles move faster.

What is HEAT?

-The transfer of Thermal energy from one object( form of matter) to another when they have different temperatures.

*The transfer of thermal energy is always from the object with a higher temperature to the object with a lower temperature until both temperatures are equal. (Ice cube & water example)
