Steps to writing

Follow the steps

• Think about what you have to write about

• Write your ideas down one by one

• List your sequencing words down at the side ( first, second, next, then, after, finally, etc.) so you can choose which best serves your composition, if you need them.

• Think about the beginning, middle and ending paragraphs.

• Write your ideas down for those paragraphs.

• Finally put it all together.

• Remember to use capital letters, punctuation and complete sentences.

My Pet

My pet is a dog. His name is Snappy. I named him Snappy because he likes to snap at strangers.

He is small. He has a brown, furry coat, with patches of white. I am not sure what breed he is.

Snappy likes to chase cars and play catch. But his favourite thing to do is lick my face.

I take extra care of my pet by feeding him food specially made for dogs, I take him to the vet for checkups, brush his teeth with a special brush and bathe him often. Snappy needs his exercise too, so everyday we go for a walk in the park and play games with my friends.

That is my pet, Snappy. And I love him.

How I care for myself

I care for myself everyday but doing things which are good for my body and mind.

When I wake in the mornings, I first brush my teeth and take a bath. I always wear clean clothes every day. Then I make my bed, because it is the right thing to do.

Finally, for breakfast I eat fruits, cereal and milk. I do not eat too much junk foods because it rots my teeth and make me sick. At lunch and dinner, I eat lots of vegetables with protein, like fish, eggs or chicken, and rice or whole wheat roti. I also exercise a lot, as this keeps me healthy and strong.

And that is how I care for my self.
