• Rising Action: this is where the conflict or problem in the story builds up

• Climax: this is the turning point and highest , most dramatic part of the story

• Falling Action: this is where things calm down and revelations about characters are made

• Resolution: this is where the conflict or the problem is solved

Elements

• Setting: the time and place of the story

• Characters: the people in the story, includes: protagonist, antagonist, round character, flat character

• Conflict: the problem in the story. Includes internal and external conflict (man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. self, man vs. society)

• Point of view: the author's perspective in telling the story (first person, second person, third person)

• theme: the point or moral of the story
