The gingerbread man jumped up and down on the fox’s head. He wanted to see the other side of the river.

The fox said, “You may fall off my head. Jump onto my nose?”

Then, the little gingerbread man jumped onto the fox’s nose. Next, he looked down. Oh dear! The fox had many very sharp teeth.

Finally, the wind carried the gingerbread man far out to sea. Now he only saw the blue and green of the waves. ‘I don’t know how to swim,’ thought the gingerbread man.

The wind carried the gingerbread man over the beach. It set him down in the middle of the island. The gingerbread man looked around and was surprised by what he saw.
