What do you think is a distance sensor in a robot?

A Distance Sensor on the VR Robot reports the distance between the VR Robot and the nearest object. The sensor calculates distance by using the time it takes for ultrasonic waves to bounce off of an object and return to the sensor.

It helps calculate how near or far you are from a block or a wall.

How does the distance sensor help the robot?

• It helps the robot by using multiple distance sensors or by rotating the sensor, the angle of the object relative to the front of the robot can be measured. It helps calculate whether the robot is far from a block or a wall.

Why is the Distance Sensor important?

• A distance sensor is the most important sensor for any robot. It's usually referred to as the "eyes" of a robot. Distance sensors are very useful as we can make systems that react based on how close we are to them or based on the presence of various obstacles.
