Comparison of Adjectives

-uses to compare people, places or things.

Examples:

i) Giraffes are taller than zebras.

ii) Sharks are scarier than dolphins.

Adjectives ----> Comparative

Adjective + '-er'

Examples:

i) tall --------> taller

ii) small -------> smaller

iii) short ---------> shorter

Comparative Adjective + than = to show differences between two things

Example: taller than , smaller than, shorter than, etc.

• Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are the coldest planets.

• Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun.

• Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are very big, but Jupiter is the biggest planet of all.
