Conspicuous means "obvious or noticeable." Something that is conspicuous stands out and can be seen easily. Because there is not much else to see around the cafe, the possum is conspicuous, or obvious or noticeable. It stands out.

A spectacle is an unusual or remarkable sight. All the stray animals gathering beneath the possum's tree for breakfast is a spectacle, or an unusual sight.
