What is point of view?

  • The angle or perspective from which a story is told

  • First, second, and third person

  • Third person can be objective, limited, or omniscient

First person

  • One of the characters is telling the story

  • Narration uses "I," "me," "my," etc.

  • Example: I walked into the building, excited for what was about to happen. Sam was standing there waiting for me.

  • The reader is a character in the story

  • Narration uses "You"
