Carbon Cycle

The carbon cycle describes the process in which carbon travels from the atmosphere to the Earth and then back into the atmosphere. Carbon is released back into the atmosphere when organisms die, volcanoes erupt, fires blaze, fossil fuels are burned, and through a variety of other ways.

3

Carbon Cycle Diagram

  • Carbon is an element found in all living things (biotic) and most non-living things (abiotic) on Earth.

  • Carbon Dioxide is a gas known as C02 which traps heat and increases temperatures. This causes Climate Change.

Food Webs & Biomes

  • Biodiversity is referred to as a "web of life" because many organisms: plants and animals interact with each other. The relationship among species is an important part of biodiversity.
