We use the present perfect for
Life experiences: Have you ever eaten Sushi before?
Accomplishments: Man has walked on the moon.
Finished actions with present results: She has lost her wallet (she can't find it)
Recently completed actions: I have just finished my project
Unfinished action (duration from past until now): I have lived in Paris for five years.
Multiple actions over time: I have seen Hakim several times.

The present perfect continuous
How long? To emphasize duration. He has been living in Paris for 3 years.
To focus on the activity, not the result. You look tired. What have you been doing.
To describe a temporary state or activity. I have been going to the gym a lot recently.
