True/False/Not Given Questions-What do they test?
In this type of question you are asked to identify factual information in the text.
You are given a list of statements and you must decide whether they match the information in the text (TRUE)
Contradict the information in the text (FALSE)
OR, there is no information in the text (NOT GIVEN)

Yes/No/Not Given Questions-What do they test?
This question type tests your ability to identify the writer's viewpoint, claim or opinion.
You are given a list of statements and you must decide whether they agree with the writer's viewpoint, claim or opinion (YES) or not (NO)
If there is no information in the text to suggest or contradict the writer's opinion then (NOT GIVEN)

What do you need to do in both instances?
Read each statement carefully (Q) highlighting key words and paying attention to qualifying words (T/F/NG).
Scan the text to locate where the relevant information is given (SKIM for KEYWORDS and HIGHLIGHT).
Ask yourself 'does the information match/agree with the statement (Q)?' Select the outcome.
If there is NO INFORMATION, don't keep looking for it!!! SImply select NOT GIVEN.
