Hello everyone

  • Today I will like to explain on circulation system chapter.

  • So let us begin.

3

Circulation

  • The Circulation is responsible for transporting materials throughout the entire body.

  • It transports nutrients, water and oxygen to your billions of body cells and carries waste such as carbon dioxide that body cells produce.

  • It is amazing highway that travels through your entire body connecting to all your body cells.

Location of the heart.

  • The heart is located in thoracic cavity.

  • Posterior to the sternum.

  • Superior to the diaphragm.

  • Between the lungs.

  • The tip of the heart is called the ‘apex’

Heart

  • A hallow muscular organ.

  • Located in thorax between 2 lungs.

  • 4 chambers.

  • 4 valves.

  • 2 atrium &2 ventricle.

  • 2 separate pumps (R&L) right side revises blood from the body and sent it to the lungs (pulmonary).

  • Left side receives blood from the lungs and send it to the body.(

The heart

  • The heart is composed of 4 chambers:-

  • Right atrium , Right ventricle.

  • Left Atrium, Left ventricle

  • Blood turning into the heart enters atria, and is then pumped into the ventricle.

  • From left ventricle, blood passes into the aorta and then enters systemic circulation.

  • From the right it enters the pulmonary circulation via the pulmonary arties.

Here we can see the structure of the heart.

8

Right atrium and Right ventricle.

  • Right Atrium - right chamber receives blood from the body- deoxygenated blood.

  • The right ventricle- lower chamber receives blood from the right atrium and sends to lungs through the pulmonary artery.

9

Left atrium and Left Ventricle

  • Left atrium- Left upper heart receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and send it to the left ventricle.

  • Left ventricle- lower left chamber receives blood from the left atrium and send it through the aorta to the body.

Definitions

  • AROTA :- The main trunk of the systemic arteries, carrying blood from the left side of the heart to arteries of all limbs and organs.

  • PULMONARY:- Carries blood to the lungs

  • PULMONARY VALVE:- Control blood movement from the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery.

  • AORATA VALVE:- Control blood from the left ventricle to the aorta.

  • TRICIPUID VALAVE:- Control blood flow between the right atrium and ventricle.

  • MITRAL VALVE :- Control blood flow between the left atrium and ventricle.

11

Definitions

  • ARTERIES :- Carry blood from the heart.

  • CAPILLIERIES :-Exchange material with tissue fluid.

  • VEINS :-Return blood to the heart
