Basic Expressions with Weather using FAIRE

To discuss the weather, we say "Il fait ________."

Check out the image beside for a few examples!

It is stormy = Il fait orageux.

Expressions with "il y a"

Il y a means there is. We can make sentences like:

Il y a du soleil

il y a du vent

il y a des nuages

Weather Verbs

Some weather events have specific verbs...

It is raining = il pleut

It is pouring = il pleut à verse

It is snowing = il neige

It is freezing = il gèle
