What does this have to do with seasons?
During the month of June the northern hemisphere (top half) of earth is pointed toward the sun.
This causes an increase in termperature and amount of daily sunlight for countries here (this is their summer).
(Meaning the southern hemisphere is experiencing the opposite - winter)

... continued
During the month of December the southern hemisphere (bottom half) and south pole point towards the Sun.
This causes an increase in termperature and amount of daily sunlight for countries here (this is their summer).
(Meaning now the opposite for the northern hemisphere - winter)
