Unit Overview: Types of Matter

  • Given a description of a substance, students will be able to classify the matter as being either a pure substance or a mixture.

  • Given a description of a substance, students will be able to classify it as either an element, a compound, a solution, a colloid, or a suspension.

  •  Given a chemical formula of a substance, students will be able to classify it as either an element, a compound, a solution, a colloid, or a suspension.

Physical Science Notebook

  • This semester students will be required to write all vocabulary and notes onto physical paper stored in either a notebook, folder, or binder.

  • At the end of each unit, students will be required to upload a picture of a specific page from their notebook. This page will not be given until the day the assignment is due.
