Proverbs (A Memorandum)
When you think that PROVERBS are just some stupid and hard-to-remember sayings made up by ancient novelists, then this fun lesson is gonna prove you wrong! Proverbs are really exciting when you get the hang of it and kinda boring when you do not. But, time and tide wait for no man, so let us get started with understanding these ornate gems of literature!

2
What are PROVERBS?
Say some random person comes, says something you think is a "Shakespeare language" (take for instance, that person said a proverb), and goes. Did you understand anything? Apparently not. So here's the answer which you can carry with yourself in a bag and spill out the knowledge in front of that guy (better be non-violent and anti-ego). A proverb is a pithy saying which states a general truth or advice. "Advice" reminds me of a proverb: Advice is what fools don't take and wise don't need. So without any further ado, let us snack on some well known proverbs.
3
TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH.
So, this proverb basically means that too many experts may make a mess of the job. For instance, in a reality singing talent show, there are 50 expert and well known singers...each one of them will have a different point of view regarding the contestants...and all those bitter and sweet comments with mix up to make a- umm...bittersweet broth with a lot of bitter gourd and little bit of jaggery...or vice-versa!
4
SILENCE IS GOLDEN
The absence of noise does give mental peace sometimes, right? Say this teacher is in a classroom with 100 students who are as talkative as magpies. Suddenly, the teacher says that all-time silencing line, "pin-drop silence". And, voila! The talkatives turn into taciturns, and the noise of banging tables turns into the scribbling of pencils! The teacher heaves a sigh of relief and I would too if I made this proverb easier in any way for you too learn!
5
A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE
By mending in time, further big loss is avoided. There was (or is, no offense) a girl named Mona. Her Mathematics was not that great (proved by a series of school tests). Instead of spending (actually wasting) her time sulking or fiddling around, she took an initiative to practice and amend her weak point. She decided to brush up her math concepts by practicing x number of sums for at least 1 hour each day. The next test went superb and she became a celebrated mathematician!
6
HASTE IS WASTE
To hurry in doing things is a waste altogether.
9:40 am, Online classes going on.
There is 5 minutes writing time left for students to complete their test. The next 15 minutes are ONLY for uploading your answer sheet. Ted still has 2 word problems to solve. Instead of pacifying himself with the fact that if he uses his mind, 5 minutes is more than enough for two sums, he is writing the solution in hurry. According to him, the test is completed and he submits the paper without checking his answers. He had left the last question with the value of 5 marks. What a fiasco!

SOME INTERESTING PROVERBS:
The darkest cloud has a silver lining — There is always hope in a miserable condition.
A bad workman quarrels with his tools — An inefficient person always grumbles.
To toil is the lot/work of mankind — Man survives by working.
Time makes the worst enemies friends — Time is the healer of all wounds.
Rome was not built in a day — Great achievements are achieved over long periods.
It is no use crying over spilt milk — Regret for what has already happened is of no avail.
Time and tide wait for no man — One must behave according to the nature and not against it. Opportunities do not wait.

DON'T CROSS THE BRIDGE UNTIL YOU COME TO IT
Don't worry about the difficulties until they actually occur. Tom was revising for his English test. There was a topic which was not so easy for him to learn. He had set it in his mind that this particular question will surely come in the assessment. He got all tensed up and instead of trying to learn that topic, he forgot all the others he had learnt as well! You can guess what happened next!
