Physical Quantities

• Length is the term used for identifying the size of an object or distance from one point . Length is a measure of how long an object is or the distance between two points. It is used for identifying the size of an object or distance from one point to another.

• WEIGHT is the measurement of heaviness of an object.

• CAPACITY is the amount of a liquid a container can hold.

HOW DO WE MEASURE?

When we measure length we measure how long something is.

You can measure the length of ANYTHING!

We measure using units of length.

These can be non-standard units.....

WE can measure weight…

Heavier objects are weighed in kilograms(Kg)

Lighter objects are weighed in grams(g)

WE can measure capacity…

• Large quantities of liquids can be measured in litres (L or l)

•  Small quantities of liquids  can be measured in millilitres(ml)
