Nostrils

• two holes in the nose used to smell and breathe

Germs

• small living things that can make us sick or help us stay well

Smelling

• We can smell with our nose.

• The holes in the nose that help us smell are called nostrils.

Breathing

• We breathe through the nostrils.

• When we cannot breathe through our nostrils, we can breathe through our mouth!

• It is MUCH BETTER to breathe through the nose than the mouth!

Sneezing

• Hair grows in the nostrils.

• The hair in the nose catches dust.

• Sneezing helps get the dust out of the nose.
