Creating comic strip poetry:
Select three quotations that you feel are very meaningful from “Caged Bird”. Put one quote per box on you Handout 5A. Illustrate (draw) each of the quotations in your comic strip. Analysis what each quote means.

Partner Work-
You and your partner take out your self-chosen poems. What techniques will you use for reciting? Review, “Caged Bird” and then take turns practicing reciting your poems. Be sure to choose specific techniques that were recorded in your journals.
