Il fait + any of the following:

Speaking in the PAST!

• To move from "It is" to "it was", we change "il fait" to "il faisait"

• Example: Aujourd'hui, il fait soleil = today, it is sunny

• Hier, il faisait soleil = Yesterday, it was sunny
