To form supelatives we use the same rules as for comparatives:

  • = for short adjectives we use different rules than for longer ones

LONG: For 2 syllable adjectives we need to know their suffixes:

  • -ed, -ing, -less, ful, ous - we use the most

  • example: the most annoying, the most clueless, the most famous

  • most "-y "ending adjectives will take "i" - ex. the happiest

  • -e ending adjectives won't take another -e ex.: the nicest

  • there are irregular adjectives: the best (good), the worst (bad), the least (little), the most (more), the farthest (far)
