A simple drawing used when all information needed to produce the product can be shown

Schematic

A simple way of drawing complicated components using symbols

Isometric

Drawing used for pictorial view. Horizontal axis are drawn at 30° and 60° to the baseline.

Oblique

Drawing used for pictorial view. Axis that shows depth is drawn at 45° to the baseline and at ½ size

Exploded view

Exploded view drawing shows where and how the parts fit. The parts are drawn separate with a centre line showing where they align

General Assembly

Demonstrate how a number of separate sub-assemblies, detailed parts, standard components come together in a unified assembly. 

1st Angle Orthographic

1st angle the views are placed the opposite side to what they are viewed

3rd Angle Orthographic

3rd angle is placed on the same side. That’s the only difference from 1st angle

Orthographic projection

There are symbols to show what projection is used.
