Present Continuous and Past Continuous

One thing you should bear in mind that these sentences should have verbs with ending -ING. (Look at the spelling rule #1)

Present Continuous

We use this tense to talk about situations that are happening now or about now. Our actions that are in progress.

Past Continuous

The structure of sentences are almost the same as in Present Continuous. BUT instead of 'to be' forms: am, is, are, we need to use was or were. (Look at the picture)

Typical Signal Words (Present Continuous)

Now, at he moment, today, tonight, next ______, this morning. Listen! Look!

Typical Signal Words for Past Continuous

While, as,

clock times (at 6.15 pm),

periods : from 3 pm to 5pm, all______ , all day, week, etc.

Before or after when-clause (I was watching TV when my friend called.)
