  • The correct use of periods is tested on many questions involving fragments, run-ons, semicolons, colons, and commas.

  • Understanding the relationship between sentence structure and punctuation is key for many questions on the English Test.

  • Complete sentences end with a period. A complete sentence must have a subject (who or what does the action), a predicate (the action), and a complete idea.

  • Correct period placement will result in logical and complete sentences both before and after the punctuation.
