Horror

• intended to or has the capacity to frighten, scare, disgust, or startle its readers by inducing feelings of horror and terror.

• a very strong feeling of fear, dread, and shock

Science Fiction

• also known as "sci-fi"

• story that has advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life (aliens).

Adventure

• story that presents danger, or gives the reader a sense of excitement.

• usually are quick-paced and involve a series of actions

Poetry

• based on the interplay of words and rhythm

• might be too complex or abstract to describe directly

Autobiography

• one type of biography

• tells a life story of its author

• an autobiography comes through the person's own pen, in his own words.

Folklore

• the tales people tell
