1.-We Multiply denominator and whole number.

4*2=8

2.-Then add + numerator 8+3=11

3.-Denominator stay the same 11/4

Add and Substract Fraction with same denominator

5/16+2/16=7/16

Different denominator

1/2+3/5=5/10+6/10

1.-Find the easiest (least) COMMON denominator.

1/2(5)+3/5(5)=1/10+3/5(2)= 1/10+3/10

2.-Then Multiply numerator for the same number that we multiply the denominator.

1/2x2/3=2/6

Division in Fraction

If 3 wholes are divided into pieces that are each 1/6 of a whole, how many pieces are there?

 $3\div$   $\frac{1}{6}$  =18
