Weight Training

  • Machine Weights:

    Resistance machines offer a performance the opportunity to train a particular muscle group.

    The group of muscles are working against the resistance provided by a stack of weight and a pulley system 

  • Free Weights:

    Performers lift dumbbell and barbell, working a specific muscle groups.

    This exercise must be perform with good technique.

Continuous training

  • A performer works in the aerobic training zone, keeping their heart rate between 60% - 80% of their MHR. 


    For a minimum of 30 minutes without a rest period. 


    Continuous training is appropriate for someone who is exercise for the first time in a long while or a more experience athlete during the off season (to maintain aerobic endurance)

Stretching

  • Static Stretching:

    Where the performer applies the force that lengthens and stretches the muscle. 

  • Ballistic Stretching:

    Bouncing the limbs to stretch them beyond their normal range of movement.

  • PNF Stretching:

    Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

    1.Stretching the muscles as far as you can.

    2.Contracted isometrically for 6-10 seconds.

    3.Partner stretches the muscle further using passive active stretch
