Pre-Writing / Brainstorming

• Choose a topic

• Set a purpose, setting

• Use a graphic organizer to put ideas on paper

Draft

• Create your first Draft

• Do not Worry about spelling at this point

• Put your ideas into paragraphs

• Hook your reader's attention

Revising

• Review and improve your draft

• Remember: A.R.M.S.

• A- Add sentences and words

• R- Remove unneeded words or sentences

• M- Move a sentence or word placement

• S- Substitute words or sentences for others

Editing

• Remember: C.U.P.S.

• C- capitalization: sentences, names, places, months, tittles and I

• U-Usage: match nouns and verbs correctluy

• P- Punctutation: . ? ! " "

• S- spelling: check spelling of all uncertain words, use resources available to you like dictionary, another person

Publishing

• Write a final copy of your work corrected work

• Get ready to share your writing with your readers/ audience
