Tram

The tram system in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal, India, operated by West Bengal Transport Corporation after Calcutta Tramways Company was dissolved, is the oldest existing tram network operating in India, and oldest operating tramway in Asia. 

Music

The music of West Bengal includes multiple indigenous musical genres such as Baul, Bishnupuri Classical, Kirtan, Shyama Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul geeti.

Shyama Sangeet

It is a Bengali devotional song dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shyama or Kali which is a form of supreme universal mother-goddess Durga or parvati. It is also known as Shaktagiti or Durgastuti

Handlooms are a popular way for the state's rural population to earn a living through weaving

West Bengal produces several varieties of cotton and silk saris in the country. Notable handloom saris include tant, jamdani, garad, korial, baluchari, tussar, and muslin.

Eden Gardens

The Eden Gardens is the largest cricket stadium in India and the third-largest in the world in terms of seating capacity. The stadium is the home to various cricket teams such as the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Bengal cricket team, and the East Zone. The 1987 Cricket World Cup final was hosted in Eden Gardens.

Kolkatta, West Bengal is the major center for football in India.

Unlike most other states of India, Kolkatta is noted for its passion and patronage of football. 

The Calcutta Cricket and Football Club is the second-oldest cricket club in the world.

Chhau Dance

Chhau Dance is a renowned tribal martial dance, a unique thing amongst folk dances of West Bengal. The dance primarily belongs to West Bengal since it's believed to have originated from Purulia district but its widely popular in other states like Odisha, Jharkhand etc.

Gaudiya Nritya

Gaudiya Nritya or Gauriya Nritya, is a Bengali classical dance tradition. It originates from Gauda, also known as Gaur, in Bengal.

Dhunuchi Naach 

Dhunuchi Naach is a dance that is performed during the evening Durga aarti, where the dancers decked up in colourful clothes balance clay bowls filled up with coconut husks, burning charcoal and powdered incense in both their hands and mouth. The sight is spectacular as the dancers dance to the beats of the dhak.
