What makes a research questionnaire enticing to answer ?
4
A well-designed questionnaire should make it easy for respondents to give the necessary information and for the interviewer to record the answer, and it should be arranged so that sound analysis and interpretation are possible.
5
It should obtain the most complete and accurate information possible.
The questionnaire designer needs to ensure that respondents fully understand the questions and are not likely to refuse to answer, lie to the interviewer or try to conceal their attitudes.
A good questionnaire is organised and worded to encourage respondents to provide accurate, unbiased and complete information.
6
It would keep the interview brief and to the point and be so arranged that the respondent(s) remain interested throughout the interview.
7
A well-designed questionnaire should meet the research objectives.
This may seem obvious, but many research surveys omit important aspects due to inadequate preparatory work, and do not adequately probe particular issues due to poor understanding.

From your own previous knowledge, what are the steps in designing and developing a questionnaire?
9
There are nine steps involved in the development of a questionnaire:
1. Decide the information required.
2. Define the target respondents.
3. Choose the method(s) of reaching your target respondents.
4. Decide on question content.
10
5. Develop the question wording.
6. Put questions into a meaningful order and format.
7. Check the length of the questionnaire.
8. Pre-test the questionnaire.
9. Develop the final survey form.

Statement of the Problem
The primary purpose of this study is to empirically evaluate the attitude of Private and Public school English Language Teachers Towards English.
Specifically, this study will attempt to answer the following questions
12
Statement of the Problem
What is the attitude of Filipino Public and Private English Language Teachers towards English ?
What is the attitude of Filipino Public and Private English Language Teachers current English Education policy of the Philippines
What is the attitude of Filipino Public and Private English Language Teachers toward the purpose for learning the English Language?
13
Open Ended
Improve these questions/statements so it will showcase the perspective of the teachers inside an English classroom. - I do not like learning English.
14
My students like learning English.
15
Multiple Choice
Based on the changes we had from the sample statements from the questionnaire, what type of research instrument validity did we consider?
Face Validity
Construct Validity
Content Validity
Reliability
16
Face Validity
is concerned with how a measure or procedure appears. Does it seem like a reasonable way to gain the information the researchers are attempting to obtain? Does it seem well designed? Does it seem as though it will work reliably? Face validity is independent of established theories for support (Fink, 1995).

Improve the questions/statements so it will showcase the perspective of the teachers inside an English classroom and it will measure teachers attitude towards English. - I want to learn American English rather
than Singapore English.
19
My students want to learn American English rather than Singapore English.
20
Multiple Choice
Base from the changes we had from the sample statements from the questionnaire, what type of research instrument validity did we consider?
Face Validity
Construct Validity
Content Validity
Reliability
21
Content Validity is based on the extent to which a measurement reflects the specific intended domain of content (Carmines & Zeller, 1991, p.20). Experts in the field can determine if an instrument satisfies this requirement. Content validity requires the researcher to define the domains they are attempting to study. Construct and content validity should be demonstrated from a variety of perspectives

24
Multiple Choice
Base from the identification of construct we had from the sample statements from the questionnaire, what type of research instrument validity did we consider?
Face Validity
Construct Validity
Content Validity
Reliability
25
Construct validity seeks agreement between a theoretical concept and a specific measuring device or procedure. This requires operational definitions of all constructs being measured.
26
Operationalization is the process of defining a concept or construct that could have a variety of meanings to make the term measurable and distinguishable from similar concepts. Operationalizing enables the concept or construct to be expressed in terms of empirical observations. Operationalizing includes describing what is, and what is not, part of that concept or construct.
27
Discussion summary
A well designed questionnaire is essential to a successful survey. However, the researcher must develop his/her own intuition with respect to what constitutes 'good design' since there is no theory of questionnaires to guide him/her.
28
Discussion summary
Face Validity, Content, Construct, and Operationalization must be considered in designing a research questionnaire.
A good questionnaire is one which help directly achieve the research objectives, provides complete and accurate information; is easy for both interviewers and respondents to complete, is so designed as to make sound analysis and interpretation possible and is brief.
29
Construct validity seeks agreement between a theoretical concept and a specific measuring device or procedure. This requires operational definitions of all constructs being measured.
