Basin: The Godavari's basin is one of the largest in the Indian subcontinent, covering about 10% of India's total geographical area.

Tributaries: The Godavari has many tributaries, including the Purna, Wardha, Pranhita, Manjra, Wainganga, and Penganga.
Significance: The Godavari is also known as the Dakshin Ganga, or Southern Ganges, and is considered sacred in central and southeastern India.
Drainage: The Godavari drains into the Bay of Bengal.
