4th- Irregular Present Participle

Tercera Semana

The present participle is formed by dropping the infinitive ending and adding the following endings to the verb.

• ar-ando

• er/ir-iendo

The present continuous (progressive) is formed by using the verb estar along with the present participle of a verb.

• estoy

• estás

• está

• estamos

• están

For verbs whose stem ends in a vowel, the present participle is formed by adding yendo. Following this slide write one sentence using one of the following verbs. You will have 3 minutes to write your sentence on the next slide. Ensure you select submit after writing the sentence.

• atraer-atrayendo (to attract)

• creer-creyendo (to believe)

• leer-leyendo (to read)

• construir-construyendo (to construct)

• incluir-incluyendo (to include)

• oir-oyendo (to hear)
