It means if there is an important event that should be known by many people, then this event deserves news. Well, the news text is called the news item text. However, if there are events that people do not deserve, then they are not defi nitely worth to be news

General Structure of News Item

1. Newsworthy event.

It recounts the event(s) in summary form. It’s a part of a text which tells

readers about the main idea or the main topic of the text

2. Background event(s).

They elaborate what happened, to whom, in what circumstances. It’s a part of a text which tells readers about the

background of the event. It consists of the event’s place, time, people, etc.

3. Sources

It contains comments by participants in, witnesses to and authority expert on the event
