• I can apply the distributive property to multiply a polynomial by a monomial.

• I can apply the product rule when multiplying exponents.

Distributive Property

Definition: The distributive property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.

Product Rule of Exponents

When we multiply exponents we add them!

x(x+4)

Multiply x by x and then by 4!

5m³(3m²-m-7)

Remember the Product Rule here!

Multiply 5m³ by each number in the parenthesis then combine!
