The Treble Clef
We use the treble clef to indicate high notes in music.
3
The Staff
The treble clef sits on a group of 5 lines called "The Staff"
The Staff has five lines, and four spaces
We count our lines and spaces from the bottom to the top
4
Reading pitch on the Staff
A note may sit on a line or a space
Each line or space on the Treble Staff shows us a specific pitch
For example, the note in the picture is sitting in the SECOND SPACE - That note is the pitch "A".

We hold a G by covering 3 holes in front of the recorder, and the thumb hole in the back

We play an A by covering the first two holes in the front of the recorder, and the thumb hole in the back
